Hong Kong Day 5!! last day le... =(
10am all up!! me first to get up and i made so much noise to get everyone out of their beds!! haha..we were out of the room by 11am and checked out our bags and left it with the Conceirge.
We took a KCR to Cat's place.wow..her apartment was not as small as i expected, compared to what i can remember many years ago when i went to visit my uncle's place in HK! i would call hers big!! or maybe, they didnt have as much stuff at my uncle had so it looked like there was more space..the room was quite small though...from her house we could see the race course! wow..first time i see race course..hafnt been to see singapore's though.if only there was a race at the moment and that would be so COOL~!! haha..we spotted comment cards lying around in the apartment and after finding out, we volunteered to bring them back instead of shipping them back to singapore.it'll be faster and cheaper of coz!! =)
Fish & Co. HK!! got the chance to say bye to Bernard..actually we wont be purposely making the trip there but there were more comment cards in the office there..uhoh..ACTUALLY IT'S QUITE ALOT!! haha..nevermind la!! i believe we are not that weak!! We went to buy the famous lao po bing (wife biscuit) as there happen to be a shop located in the shopping center..we bade goodbye to Cat at the gantry..sigh..never liked these farewell stuff..always make me feel so sad... =(
Took the KCR to Mongkok station to go make to Langham Place..uhoh..took different line so got kinda lost..at the point we were quite unsure of the name of the place so we just walk where our instincts brought us!! heng ah.it's the correct place!! sigh..as i predicted..the earrings were not available anymore.sold out!! suay..ended up getting a pair of butterfly clip ons..haha..what to do..earrings and ornaments always tempt me!! Qihui also bought 2 pairs of earrings, and by then, our hands are hurting from the comment cards..carrying long distances really make a difference huh??
last ride of the MTR!! we return our cards to get back our deposit..stopped by a book store to let Xiaoyuan get a book and Qihui got some flower tea and we went back to the hotel where we unpacked everything and tried to stuff whatever we had on our hands into the luggages and handcarriers!! ahemm...of coz..i had the most luggage..haha..the pple who walked past us looked at us in amusement..haha..
aiyoh, our flight delayed..this time not so lucky to get the change to SQ..but we were given vouchers of HK$75 each to spend on food in the airport..flight delayed from 8pm-9.10pm..that means we will reach singapore at only 12.50am!! gosh..
the first voucher we spent on Popeyes in the airport..we didnt order much food as we all at a late lunch at Langham Place..Popeyes cannot be found in Singapore so it was worth spent..the next 2 were spent on Starbucks..haha.what a place to spend..I got myself a new mug too!! hee..so happy..was kinda upset after the first one broke when i dropped it on the floor..
up the plane..and home we go..bye HK......

Hong Kong Day 4
Xiaoyuan woke up early and helped us get breakfast whilst we laze on the bed..haha..piggy!! we wanted to eat the porridge that was opp our hotel..yum yum..it was good!! the placed is called qing song yi xia (relax a little while).. Cat came and we took our own sweet time until it was about 11.30am when we left the hotel. We were walking through Harbour City to the Star Ferry when we walked past this shop selling snoopy stuff!!haha..of coz it brought me in and although i told myself i should not spend on anymore junk, i could not resist getting one of the ornaments after long consideration..aiyah..talk about self discipline..failed!! haha.... was trying to take picutres of every single one..keep making the others block me from the shop keeper's view..lol..i'm a bad girl..
we boarded the upper deck of the star ferry to HK Island..wow..HK Island was even more packed than Kowloon!!Every turn, every street was lined with shops..we took a tram instead of a bus to Causeway Bay since there were no trams in Singapore and it was worth the sit..anyway, they also used the Octopus card..so y not??Additionally, it was only HK2 a ride..regardless of how far or how near we went.. thats like.. S43cents?? haha..whats there to lose?? We walked around Causeway Bay for half the afternoon..the shops were too many already!! i bought a Nalgene bottle as it was slightly cheapter than singapore and my current bottle was already quite badly scratched..in fact, everyone bought a bottle.haha..usually i'll be the one buying stuff and they not buy anything..
We took a tram back to Central..kinda got lost coz Cat was a little unsure of where to alight..nevermind..explore more of HK Island!! found our way and had macs dinner b4 proceeding to Li Yuen Street East and Li Yuen Street West..actually, there was nothing much there, maybe coz it was late and it had been raining the whole day..we spend less than 15 mins there and we saw a very uniquely HK stairs..i have no idea how to describe but one look at in and u'll know it's ancient and so HK..haha..we took a picture and climbed the entire stairway, reaching flights of escalators..we soon realise that Cat was actually bringing us up the Victoria Peak!! haha..i kinda got upset as i wanted to be back at Kowloon to catch the laser show..
As usual, i started making lots of noise..when we got to the main road cat suggested we took a to the Star Ferry as the map said we needed at least 20mins to get back down there..aiyoh...so suay..the road was jammed so badly we were stuck at the same spot for at least 10mins!! ahhhh..will i be late for my laser show?? finally, we moved and the taxi driver let us down on the one street away for fear of further jam ahead..we rushed like mad people to the ferry..luckily the wait wasnt very long and i was praying that the ferry would travel faster..unluckiness comes in numbers..the ferry had alittle problem parking due to choppy waters..BUT HENG AH..reached there JUST IN TIME for my laser show!! Yipeee!!! haha.....it was very cool..the music and the lights syncronise..wonder how much it cost for one of these shows??
We dropped by the hotel to put our stuff and wanted to go back to the streets we visited 2 days before.Cat didnt wanna go wth us but in the end she did coz Qihui came up with a fantastic idea!! she suggested that weplayed games through the night!! yay~!!! =) Cat was happy to stay, i was also happy she stayed..4 days past so fast and another day with her would be great~! Soon, everyone was starting to get really slow and sleepy, especially when we started playing bridge..i had a very long time reacting..lol..so we went to sleep at around 6am..determined to get up at 10 and make a short trip to Cat's place..

Hong Kong Day 3
We got up super early to go for the Shenzhen tour. We found the tour guide at our hotel escalator and he told us that we were the only 3 pple going to Shenzhen! however, he said that on the other side, they may have made arrangements with other tour groups and we may not be the only ones there.
He only brought us to the train station, bought us the tickets, gave us instructions on where to go and said that this lady would meet us there and then left us. When we got to ShenZhen, the tour guide there told us that there was only the 3 of us!! Seems fun huh??!!?? We took a taxi and the lady was like trying to persuade us to pay for the optional tours..Xiaoyuan still has recollection of the place and said that it was nothing much so we decided not to go for it as it was quite expensive too..we rejected her nicely despite her persuading..from then, she became quite unfriendly and was complaining openly to the taxi driver and to her friend on the phone.. using 'waste time' 'waste money' blah blah blah in chinese, cantonese.hiyoh..not our fault right..we are only students and on a tight budget!! at one of the herb places we visited..there was a doctor there and i was kinda persuaded to get this medicine to help my digestion..hope it works!! it's quite expensive!!
Lunch came and gone and she sent us back to the train station..we went to walk at the shoping centre were i finally saw this bag that i liked..we bargained and waited for quite some time for the girl to find a new bag..unfortunately, we were walking back to the train station and went past this shop that also sold this bag..out of curiosity, qihui went to ask the lady how much she is selling the bag..uhoh..i think she suspected we bought that bag b4 hand and asked us how much we paid for..we deined buying the bag and the open price she quoted was the price i bought!! ARGH!! we rejected her and she lowered the price by RMB 20..and when we started to walk way she lowered by another RMB 20, and yet another RMB 20!!what the.........i got cheated~!!!! cry... dont think about it anymore..
the walkway between shenzhen and hong kong is much newer now..i remembered last time it wasnt air conditioned and it was very smelly..now there is air conditioning but there was still a little smell!! luckily it was only for a short period of time.. we went back to our hotel to put down our passport and waited for Irene to come and she brought us to Victoria Harbour as i wanted to see the laser show..we found a restaurant with a nice view and had our dinner there..the food was great!! she brought us to hotel penisula after that to take a look b4 heading back to hotel.. dunno y..probably the day didnt do alot of walking so qihui and i were quite active..so we both walked out whilst xiaoyuan stayed..
both of us wanted to find the street that Cat brought us that day but were unable to find it..oh..we also wanted to get this pair of shoes..sad..shop close le..we walked and walked and almost got lost b4 decided to consult the map..haha..we found our way out and happened to walk by this fruit juice stall..mmmmmm..the fruit juice was nice!! hee..we went back to the hotel realllly tired..............

Hong Kong Day 2
We tried to get up at 9am..ate the breakfast that we took away yesterday and walked around our hotel a little before proceeding to take the MTR to Kowloon Tong. We bought their 'MRT card' known as Octopus. The shopping centre at Kowloon Tong is so big and nice!! However, the shops were mostly towards the high-end so we ended up just window shopping and not walking into any of the shops. They also had an internal ice-skating rink!! COOL~ apparently, it's the biggest shopping center ice skating rink in HK. Oh.. the shopping centre is called Festival Walk. Qihui and I were very tempted to go and try out the ice-skating rink as it was so empty..singapore's ice skating rink was always so full of pple..it was slightly more expensive and about the same size as singapore but it was just different and seemed so interesting..in the end we didnt skate as Xiaoyuan didnt know how to skate so we went to get lunch. The 'food-court' was so full of pple so we went to Treats - a Carrefour look alike, and got some sushi, chicken wings and a KFC nearby and sat down in those shopping centre benches to have our meal. i got a vodka milkshake and a box of biscuits for brother..
After our meal, we headed to Yau Ma Tei station to walk around..aiyoh..we came out in some ulu residential place where it was so obvious they had no shopping..so we walk walk walk until we reached the main road where the shops were..i got a cd holder that looked like dice..hehe..by the time we were already very near Mong Kok Station..wanted to save that area for the night but the shopping centre was soooo tempting and we needed a toilet so we went in to explore..NO REGRETS MAN!! That place was GREAT!! haha..so much shopping to do..coz the shops were like Heeren..more to our kind..and more affordable..there was this place called 'The Spiral' where we go round and round and round from the 8th-12th floor..the escalator was only catered to every 4 floor..so we took the long long escalator up and sat down to take a rest..haha..
the shopping centre is called Langham Place..there, the first thing i got was a big soft toy for steven..hehe..it was so nice..afraid that i'll end up taking it and not giving it to him like what happened to the soft toy tiger i bought for him from Australia..i also got a cross for mum..and i saw a pair of earrings that i liked..however, the lady was so unfriendly that we did not feel like staying in the store..
after buying and walking we were thirsty and tired..so we had a coffee break at 'Uncle Gere'. At first qihui didnt wanna go in as she said there wasnt many pple there so it may not be good..haha..she was wrong..the stuff there was great!!i also dabao donuts for my breakfast tomorrow coz they were so soft and seemed so special..
after our high tea, we went back tothe hotel to unload and wait for Cat to pick us up. She came and she brought us to those streets.. no idea where we walked!! just walk and walk..trust her to know where she's going..it was so pasar malam type but very very squeezy!! Actually those lanes were the Temple street, Lady street and all those small lanes parallel to it..There was quite a variety of stuff but were quite repeated every other few stalls..the good thing is -- there's BARGAINING!! haha..I bought 3 shirts for Steven, a skirt for myself and found one of Li Si's vcd.. We had lots of fun!! i was quite full from high tea and did not manage to catch my smelly tou fu..sad...if i ever go past next time i must grab one!!
4 hours of walking and we were so tired. stopped by at KFC and got a drink. All of us looked so tired..It was already 11pm but it seemed like only 9pm as everywhere was so crowded!! Cat looked so tired so we told her not to send us back.when we reached our station, it was raining cats and dogs..
Slept quite early as we had to get up early to get to Shen Zhen tomorrow....

Hong Kong Day 1
today is the big day to Hong Kong!! i'm super excited!! it's officially the first trip that i go alone with my friends..it has been nearly 9 years since i've been to hong kong and i doubt i remember much!!
we went to pick up Qihui first before picking Xiaoyuan..reached airport about 8am..uhoh..the board at the airport stated that our flight has been delayed to 10.45am as the later one has been cancelled and they would be combining both flights..we went to the counter..thinking of how we should spend our remaining time..the good thing was..the lady said that we could change to SQ if we wanted as they had extra seats and were offered to the early birds..of coz we take la!! SQ is so much better!! so far, i've not found any airline that is better than SQ~!! yay...took sky train to terminal 2..
after checking in our luggage, we went to BK for breakfast as Qihui was hungry and made our way to the Budget Airline Terminal as Xiaoyuan wanted to see what it was like..they had a shuttle bus which was quite nice..
Budget Airline Terminal reminded Qihui and I alot of Australia as they had a big big empty carpark but a relatively small building..basically, budget airline building is square and looking in from the door, u can see the entire building..haha..not very big la..when we got back to the airport, we went in to the transit area and spend our remaining time there..hmm..never officially explored the restricted area of Changi Airport b4..actually, nothing much there la..just all those higher end shops and souvenirs..they also sell some foreign imported stuff den u dont usually see in the markets of singapore..up on the plane and off we go!! =)
as usual, SQ had movie-on-demand..watched , which was not a very nice movie, and 3/4 of , which was great!! Jennifer Anniston rocks!! we reahced HK at 2.45pm and the entire group was waiting for us as our flight landed 15mins after them and we spent a long time inside taking maps, brochers and stuff..haha..so paiseh..
Kimberly hotel!! its a beautiful hotel..i'm glad we paid an extra $160 for it..think it would be much better than Dorsett Seaview, which Xiaoyuan's dad said was near those redlight district..we dumped down our bags, waited for Xiaoyuan's fren - Irene..den we were off!! Irene was an exchange student in SMU..so that was great!! we have a local bringing us around!! We headed off to ShaTin with Cat's green tea and stuff..my..there were very heavy!! When we reached ShaTin i was so happy to see Cat!! she looked like she lost weight..must be all the stress in HK..poor thing...she brought us to the Snoopy World where i got all so excited and hugged the big snoopy at the entrance..
we also went to see Fish n co there to see see look look..wow..it's so nice as compared to singapore lor..it was just too nice and tempting that we had our dinner there..HK menu was different from us as they had chicken and beef of n the menu..we orderd alot of food and that stupid eating problem of mine had to strike at the moment..spoilt my mood..sian.. we visited Starry Garden there which was very beautiful and they had some sort of musical fountain there.. after that we went to a dessert restaurant just few shops away and had dessert..the dessert was good!! oh..the restaurant is called !!
We shopped around the shopping centre b4 making our way back to the hotel..ate the da bao i took from Fish n co, and we went to sleep..TIRED but FUN!! =) a perfect 1st day in HK..
